All Adult sanctioned tournaments are assigned a Level from 1 to 7, and are further divided into Type.
As a USTA member, you can participate in any of these tournament levels as long as you meet the eligibility criteria of each tournament (such as age, NTRP rating, and more).
USTA also offers unsanctioned and WTN tournaments that are generally social events that do not impact player ratings or tournament rankings.
We offer a variety of adult tournaments within the District throughout the year from one-night Level 7 events to weekend-long Level 5 events. Please check back regularly as new tournaments may be added during the year.
A variety of adult tournaments within the Section are offered throughout the year. No matter your skill level or age, USTA Missouri Valley has adult Level 4 tennis tournaments to suit your needs in a competitive environment.

NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) tournaments provide players with the opportunity to compete at their appropriate skill level. Divided by rating levels (2.5–5.0) and age groups (18+, 40+, and 55+), these tournaments feature singles, doubles, and mixed doubles formats. Events can span 1 to 5 days.
In addition to fun level-based competition, NTRP tournaments also offer players a pathway to the NTRP National Championships. By earning ranking points and competing in at least one Level 4 Adult Missouri Valley Section tournament within your age group and NTRP division, you may qualify to represent USTA Missouri Valley at the national level. The NTRP National Championships are annual adult tournaments that use the NTRP rating system to provide level-based competition for the 18 & over, 40 & over, and 55 & over age groups. National champions are crowned each year in men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles at the 2.5–5.5 levels for the 18 & over group and at the 3.0–5.0 levels for the 40 & over and 55 & over groups.
Players earn NTRP ranking points based on their performance in each NTRP tournament. The more matches you win—and the higher the tournament level—the more points you accumulate!
How Points Work:
Rankings Categories:
Rankings are grouped by four factors:
Example:
If you compete in an Women’s 18+ 3.5 Singles event and a Women’s 40+ 3.5 Singles event, you will have two separate rankings. To improve your ranking in either category, you must play more tournaments that match all four factors.
USTA adult tournament rankings are designated at the district, section, and national levels.
